It’s almost certainly printed, stamped, or engraved on them. The simplest way to find the serial number is to inspect your camera and lenses. On the EOS-1 series cameras, the serial number will appear as a multi-digit white sequenced number engraved in the frame around the label on the camera’s bottom. The second letter (“R” in the image above) is the code of the year of manufacturing. “U” stands for Utsunomiya, “F” for Fukushima and “O” for Oita, all in Japan.
